As you would expect there are many tourist buses connecting with charter flights.

There is only 1 public bus running into Alicante itself - this bus marked C-6 stops at bus stop no.30 (out of the arrival building, cross first street, left-hand-up). Roughly every 45 minutes, roughly 40 minutes to the train station (Estacion de trenes.) This is not a shuttle.

A shuttle bus runs from the airport (bus stops 29-30) to Benidorm bus station at Avenida Europa 8. These run hourly (on the hour) and take 50-60 minutes. Return buses also leave on the hour.

You can also be a bit more adventurous and take the narrow gauge railway ("Ferrocarril de la Generalitat Valenciana" or FGV ) to Benidorm, Denia, Altea, Calpe or Teulada. This doesn’t run from the main train station but has it’s own station at Avenida de Villajoyosa, on the north end of the Alicante harbour area. First of all take the airport C-6 bus mentioned above to the last stop – Puerta de Mar. Then jump on a local streetcar for the last km to the FGV station, 1 or 2 minutes – you’ll need a tram ticket for zone A. The FGV train stops at the following - Albufereta, El Campello, Vila Joiosa, Benidorm, Altea, Calpe, Benissa, Teulada, Gata., Denia.

Note that you can also get buses to Benidorm and Denia from Alicante bus station. The airport C-6 bus mentioned above has a stop at estacion de autobuses. Benidorm takes between 45-55 minutes, Denia between 2 hours and 2.5 hours.

Taxis are readily available and usually pretty helpful.
